Is the U-40 material needed at all?

Tagged {{technical}}. Roughly a third of this article is about a veterinary scale that almost no reader will encounter, and it sits between the reader and the material they came for.

I am not proposing removal — the scale-confusion error is real and worth documenting. I am proposing it move to a single subsection near the end rather than appearing in the lead, the infobox, the converter and two tables. — — GramsNotUnitsGil (talk) 12:11, 9 January 2026 (UTC)

Partly disagree. The U-40 column in the comparison table is the entire reason that table exists: without it the table says "these two scales are identical", which is not worth a table.

The lead mention I would keep, because a reader who has a U-40 syringe in front of them needs to know within the first paragraph that their unit is not the one everyone else means. The infobox row could go. — — UnitsUrsula (talk) 15:28, 9 January 2026 (UTC)

Rounding warning: is it original research?Resolved

The converter now emits a warning computing the percentage difference between the entered value and the nearest whole graduation. Routine, I think. It computes a difference and states it; it does not say whether the difference is acceptable. The line would be crossed by a message like "this rounding is clinically insignificant". — — Hedgerow_Hal (talk) 13:05, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
