Amyloid: cause or consequence?

The article says the causal direction is debated, which is correct, but it might be worth naming the specific difficulty: amyloid is found at post mortem, so the temporal sequence is unobservable in humans. AmylinAmos (talk) 10:15, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

Good point, though I would keep it short. The claim that oligomers rather than fibrils are cytotoxic is the more useful detail for a reader and it is already there. BetaCellBoyd (talk) 14:30, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

Fair. Leaving as it stands then, with the debate flagged and the mechanism sketched. AmylinAmos (talk) 09:05, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

Insulin-to-amylin ratioResolved

"Approximately 1:20 molar ratio" — is that amylin to insulin or the reverse? As written a reader could take it either way. PlainNumbersPip (talk) 11:22, 8 May 2026 (UTC)

Amylin to insulin. Reworded so the order of the named hormones matches the order of the numbers. ✓ Done MolarMassMaeve (talk) 13:50, 8 May 2026 (UTC)

Species difference in aggregationDone

The rodent-versus-human sequence difference explains a great deal about why this field moved slowly, and it is well covered here. Could the proline positions be named? StabilityStig (talk) 09:40, 27 January 2026 (UTC)

I have kept it at "several proline-containing positions" rather than listing them, since the numbering convention differs between sources and a wrong number is worse than none. ✓ Done Peptide_Pete (talk) 12:15, 27 January 2026 (UTC)
